Worked for St. Lucie County in the Veteran's Service Office, then went to State of Fl Dept. of Labor where I retired on disability in 1999..(got bitten 3 times in 2 different offices by Brown Recluse Spiders which almost killed me..lupus, chf and other assorted ailments!!) However, Heaven doesn't want me and Hell is afraid I will take over!!!! Also ran my ex-husband's insurance agency for 5 years after retiring and before getting divorced.....Have been volunteering for 28 years at the Treasure Coast Opera with Shef's Mom....Got divorced from husband #2 in 2004....
Well, I survived New Years Eve 2008 in Times Square!!! My mother had this on her "bucket list" so off we went with Anne Holahan and her 19 year old daughter Tiffany.... It snowed part of the day while we were in the "bullpen" and the temperature dropped down to 8 with windchill of -2 .... We did get interviewed by Kelli Pickler and were right in front of Ryan Seacrest!! I think I know now why I live in Florida!!! When all was said and done, we did have a pretty good time..... Would I do it again? Only if I rented a room at the Millenium and watched the ball drop from there!!!!
I am sorry that I was out of town during our reunion... I had to go to Boston on personal business..... However, the people who called me said that it was very nice and they had fun.... I got back from Boston late Monday night and left on Wednesday afternoon on a road trip with Anne Holohan, again!! This time, with her son and nephew.... We went to Great Lakes, IL to see her daughter graduate from Navy Boot Camp!! Boy, has Chicago changed since I was there in 1984!!! From there, we went to Lawrenceburg, IN and stayed at a Riverboat Casino for 3 days (lots of fun, but lost money!)..... Then, enroute to Rockville, MD we stopped at Harpers Ferry, WVA (still doing geanology research) and then Gettysburg, PA..... Hadn't been there since 1961.... Things sure look and feel different as an adult than they did as a kid (oops, I'm still a kid).. Got home last Sunday, none the worse for wear, but glad to be home!!!! I think our next roadtrip is either going to be Key West or Alaska... Will keep you posted! I miss everyone and hope to see you soon....
Ok JimmieAnne, I have been busy the past 6 months in Naples, FL with Opera Naples, helping them with costumes, etc... Mom, Anne and I went on a 7 day cruise to Alaska. It was awesome... Actually saw the Northern Lights!!! We plan on going to Ireland and Paris in the fall.... Will try to remember to update then!!!! Oh yeah, I lost 60 lbs too!!!
Got a new knee in August!!!! Planning a cruise for April... Tampa to Honduras, Belize City, Costa Maya and Cozumel, Mexico!!! Don't have to use the cane now so will be able to see more things this time!!! Mom had a stroke/heart attack so didn't get to go abroad.... One day at a time....
Planning a trip to China in the next 2 years.... Walking the Great Wall was at the top of Mom's "Bucket List"!!! I decided to go when we get her ashes back from the University of Miami where she donated her body to science... She felt that more people would be helped than if she was an organ donor... I will take the ashes with me to walk on the wall and then bring them back and scatter them on the ocean which is what she wanted done.... RIP MOM, I miss my best friend every day!!!!
I wish I could be there for the Class Reunion, but I will be out of town.... I will be there in spirit and look forward to the photos and comments!!!
