Gary, aka "Pie" was an incredible surfer, smooth with power, we surfed together 100's of times and caught the Jetty as good as gets, The 1st 15-20 years of surfing we got bigger and more consistent surf, the cold fronts came from the north-northeast off the coast with not quite as cold temperatures as we get now, The fronts now come from the north west with different.conditions, weather pattrerns change, Gary ripped, I would run into him around town, he was a good man, I thank God I knew him and was able to surf with him.
