Our dog is a person to us.  Look into his eyes and tell me he isn't.

Tommy;   Whoa now, I'm not sure you can bring Buster by here all dressed up in that Tux. Nilla just loves a Smart Dressed Man!

FPUA Electric Transmission Division is sending crews of Linemen to the Virgin Islands to help them restore their power grid. My son will be part of a crew in St Croix for the month of December. They do, however, get to live on a Carnival Cruise ship while they are there. Who would have even thought they would ever need to reach out that far for help. We should all say a prayer that it was not us, and while you are at it, say a prayer for all of them.

David,

I have been meaning to get with you about that.  Dru told me at the benefit for the Virgin Islands to give your son her phone number and to call her as she would like to have a little "get together" for them while they are there.  I will send you her phone number.  She was pretty excited that they were sending a Fort Pierce crew down there.

Tommy;

That is so nice of Dru to offer. I am sure they would love to have some local connection to home while there (it would go a long way in giving them a better feeling of satisfaction knowing they are helping someone who came from their own hometown) . As I said before, they will be there all month (for some it will be their first Christmas away from home). Let me know and I will get the information to Dan.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                        On a sad note:                                                                                                                                                 Karen Kane's shop, "Karen Kane Interiors", in downtown Ft Pierce caught fire last night. My cousin was downtown at Sweets today and saw the aftermath. It does not look good  (Sue went online to the Fire Dept website and showed me the pictures). Karen has worked real hard for many years to build what is a very good and respected business.      My thoughts and prayers go out to her.

David,

With all the amplifiers we were blasting thru on a daily/nightly basis, most people could hear us a mile away.  Don't ya miss those days of playing loud music for a living?  You need to come to Florida and play some music with us.  We still do it pretty much everyday but just not as loud.

I just saw this link on Channel 5's web site and am praying it's not our classmate Roger Odom although it sounds like it may be. The article calls him a Fort Pierce man 66 years old.  Roger never joined our website but I used to see him in the hardware store next to Frankie's & Johnnie's.

I was just watching the news and they reported that Roger Odom, 66, of Tangelo Dr, Fort Pierce, was killed in a single vehicle accident last night on Okeechobee Rd.   I can’t help but believe this is the Roger who graduated with us.   Even if it’s not, my prayers go out to his family and friends.

Sorry, Tommy, I started typing and got interrupted, so a delay in posting.   I see you thought the same thing.

Just seeing this post.....I haven't seen anything in the local paper. Roger came to our last reunion and we had a wonderful time catching up on old times.  He was always a little quiet but so kind.   Soar high our Eagle friend~~!

Yes, this is the Roger Odom that graduated with your class. No info on arrangements as of yet, that I know of. His children will be handling things...according to his sister in law. His mother, Doris, was cafeteria manager for many years.

Arrangements are being made today at Haisley Funeral home.

I was very saddened this morning when I opened my email and found that Richard Parker, Class of 1970 had passed away.  He will be missed I am sure by his family, class, and by our class as well.  He has always been a major contributor to our class website.  You will be missed Richard, or should I say Dick.  He always told me that the only place he was called Richard was on here.

Rest in Peace Eagle

Rick and I were deeply saddened to learn of Richard’s passing. He was truly dedicated to all of his eagle friends. Our heart aches for his family. We had lots of laughs on partnering with the website and he often talked me through my frustrations with the site. We visited him in Alabama and he was so proud of his entrepreneurial development. I so wish we could have more time on this earth with him. God must have big plans for him. The class of 70 is asking for everyone to find a quiet place on Wednesday at 9:00 am for a collective prayer. Let’s all dedicate ourselves to joining in this special tribute to Richard. Many hugs to all of you.

No brilliant words of inspiration.    But I can say “Good Morning” to you all and tell you how blessed I feel to be here to do so.   May each of you have a wonderful day!

Dear Class of 1969

A few of us have been talking (yes, we understand all about the "sunshine law") about what to do and who will be the organizer of our 50th Class Reunion.  Yes, I realize it has snuck up on us and we wouldn't have even thought about it if the Class of 1970 hadn't already been talking about organizing theirs.  Well they have set a date and they are a year after us so that means we need to do some serious talking and thinking.

To make a long story short, we need somebody who would like to be the chairman or organizer for this event.  In the past, most of the same people have handled the weight of this and at this point are loaded down with things they have going on.  This is a chance for someone who has all of a sudden realized that they need something to do now that they are retired to keep busy for a while.  Of course at the same time becoming a hero to the rest of the class.

Please take this to heart and reply on this forum if you think you would like the job or if you have any ideas to make this a successful event.  Or, if there is something that you think should be changed from the ways of the past.  This is your class and your forum.  Please help us hash this out so that we all feel good about it,  We are open to all suggestions and ideas.

Thanks,

Tommy
